Designs such as this one are created by painting and layering different colored glass powders and glass enamels onto glass panels. The layered glass is melted in a kiln and usually requires multiple firings at different temperatures.  Color intensity changes as the sunlight filters through it. The images are not painted on but rather glass pieces and particles fused together.  Reclamimed window frame has a walnut stain and lacquer finish.
